Two drivers tested by traffic police in the Kingaroy area on Tuesday allegedly failed roadside drug tests.

Acting Senior Sergeant Brent Gerber, from Kingaroy Police, said a 46-year-old man allegedly recorded a positive roadside saliva test about lunchtime. He was taken to Kingaroy Hospital for a blood sample to be taken for further analysis.

Earlier, another man was taken to Nanango Hospital for a blood sample to be taken after he also allegedly failed a roadside test.

Both drivers had their licences suspended for 24 hours.

Charges will depend on the results of the blood tests.

A grey Honda Civic being sought after an incident in Kingaroy last week has been located by police.

Acting Snr Sgt Gerber said the Honda had been spotted driving around Kingaroy with paper number plates on July 21. When police attempted to stop the vehicle, it drove off.

It was located at 2:00am on Sunday between Fairview Drive and Joseph Street, Kingaroy.

Acting Snr Sgt Gerber said the vehicle had been seized by police and examined by Scenes of Crime officers.

Inquiries are continuing to locate the driver.

“A suspect has been identified and inquiries are continuing to locate that person,” Acting Snr Sgt Gerber said.
