2014 South Burnett Miss Showgirl Louise Black will be representing the region this year in Dairy Cattle Judging and Dairy Cattle Handling

July 15, 2015

Judges were kept busy on Saturday selecting the entrants who’ll be representing the South Burnett at the Brisbane Exhibition next month.

The annual South Burnett Sub-Chamber Presentation Lunch was held at Nanango Showground, but hosted by the Blackbutt Show Society.

Categories judged were Young Judges, Young Handlers, utes, fruit cake and the prestigious Rural Ambassador and Miss Showgirl.

Entrants in the last two categories were introduced to the diners by Cr Kathy Duff, before being asked to answer a few questions on stage. This formed a part of the judging process.

The winners of all categories were announced during the lunch by Blackbutt Show Society president Jamie Marriott.

Proston Miss Showgirl Anita Welch was named the 2014 South Burnett Miss Showgirl.

The 2015 South Burnett Rural Ambassador is Kingaroy Show winner Melissa O’Hanlon.

For the second year in a row, Proston’s Faye Kruger won the rich fruitcake category.
