A Murgon resident has been taken to hospital in a stable condition after a minor fire in a house in Lamb Street this morning.

Emergency services were called at 11:46am.

Two fire crews and an ambulance attended.

A fire brigade spokesman said fat had caught fire on the kitchen stove but it had been extinguished by the time they arrived.

There was no structural damage, however the house was full of smoke and fire crews ventilated the building.

The occupant is believed to have suffered smoke inhalation.
