A fire in the toilets at Kingaroy Shoppingworld forced the evacuation of the centre on Saturday afternoon.
The Kingaroy Fire Brigade was called to the centre about 3:50pm.
QFRS Kingaroy Station officer Bruce Groer said someone had set alight a toilet roll in a plastic toilet roll holder inside the men’s toilets at the northern end of the building.
This had created thick, black smoke and the safest thing was to evacuate the building.
