Stonefruit from the old Kumbia Stonefruit orchard

May 25, 2015

A stonefruit orchard at Kumbia which was marketed last year in a bundle with similar properties in South Australia and Victoria has been sold.

However, the other two properties still remain on the market.

A local stonefruit grower has added the 294ha Kingaroy Stone Fruit property to his other holdings for an undisclosed price.

It consists of 35ha of various peach and nectarine varieties, 25ha of arable land that can be further developed and approximately 3ha of remnant vegetation.

The three properties which had been bundled together in the hope of attracting one international buyer were:

  • Kingaroy Stone Fruit, at 104 Kumbia-Minmore Road, Kumbia
  • Lowana Fruits in South Australia’s Riverland region (42ha of peaches and nectarines on 56ha), and
  • Riverbend Orchards in Victoria (125ha of peaches and nectarines on 161ha).
