The Open trail passes through local cattle properties

May 29, 2015

The hugely popular Kingaroy Trail Ride, organised by the local Lions Club, is on again this weekend at Chahpingah.

Last year’s event broke all records, attracting more than 700 riders and raising almost $40,000 for charity.

The riders are divided into four categories based on age and experience: Pee Wee, Junior, Novice and Open.

All motorbikes – registered and non-registered – are welcome (except quads) and the riding is just for fun (not racing).

The trails pass through local properties.

The longest route is the Open track and organisers usually survey a different trail every year to keep entrants on their toes.

The novice loop is 15km and there is also a Pee Wee track close to the campsite.

The mini Enduro Cross track which was introduced last year will be back again, operating under lights on Saturday night near the camping area.

Registrations open at 7:00am on Saturday and Sunday mornings (cash only – as no EFTPOS facilities are available).
