The project will include upgrading a section of unsealed road to bitumen. Works will include clearing, drainage, gravel paving, bitumen sealing, line marking and signage. It is expected the work will take about six weeks.

During the project, a section of Ironpot Road will be controlled by traffic lights during work hours and traffic will be reduced to one lane. After hours, the road will be opened to two-way traffic.

If the road cannot be open to two-way traffic after hours for any reason, traffic lights will be in place to control traffic.

The start of building work at the Kingaroy Police Station means there will be some temporary restrictions to parking in nearby Short Street.

These changes have been made for the safety of motorists and to allow safe entry and exit of the construction site:

  • Western side – No stopping at any time between Alford Street East and the driveway into the RSL
  • Eastern side – No stopping at any time between Alford Street East and Court Lane

Pedestrian access to the Satellite Cinema will not be affected and car parking exists nearby which is only a short walk to the complex.
