Kirby Rubesaame and Logan Bayliss-Brow … selected for the U16s Central Crows

March 31, 2015

The Kingaroy Red Ants have been offered the opportunity to host a round of the Cyril Connell Cup and the Mal Meninga Cup on Easter Saturday (April 4).

This is an opportunity to see some of the best young footballers in the State go through their paces, and to cheer on two Kingaroy teenagers who have been selected in one of the rep teams.

The Cyril Connell Cup is for U16s while the Mal Meninga Cup is for U18s; they are the equivalent of the Intrust Super Cup for the younger grades.

The young players on show could well be the football stars of the future.

The two teams that will be in action on Saturday are the Central Crows (selected from the Bundaberg, Central Burnett, Fraser Coast, Northern Districts, South Burnett, Sunshine Coast / Gympie and Sunshine Coast junior competitions) and the Northern Pride (based in Cairns).

Two Kingaroy Red Ants will be playing in the Central Crows’ U16s side: Kirby Rubesaame and Logan Bayliss-Brow.

The boys, who both attend Kingaroy State High School, were selected after performing well in recent trial matches.

The U16s match will kick off at 10:00am on Saturday morning, followed by the U18s match at 11:30am.

Spectators are encouraged to come down to TJ O’Neill Oval in Kingaroy to support the two Kingaroy players.
