About 3000 Ergon Energy customers in Kingaroy and Wooroolin had their power supply interrupted this morning as a result of damage to the network caused by last week’s storm.

A lightning arrestor which was struck by lightning last week failed this morning, initially affecting about 1700 customers from 4:50am.

A further 1400 customers were affected for a shorter period as part of switching operations to enable power to be restored to the customers originally affected.

Power was reinstated to all customers by about 8:20am.

A pee wee has been blamed for a blackout which knocked Wild Horse FM off the air and affected 58 Ergon customers in Cheadle, Millar and Watson streets and Station Road, Yarraman yesterday.

The ex-bird flew into a transformer near the corner of Cheadle and Syme streets, requiring crews to replace two high-voltage fuses.

Power was interrupted from 3:22pm until 4:05pm.
