I am extremely humbled to be returning to work this month as the Member For Nanango following the recent state election.

I would like to thank you for putting your faith in me for a second term and I’m looking forward to working even harder to make the Nanango electorate an even greater place for our families to live, work and raise a family.

It’s very important for me to pass on a special “thank you!” to all the people who volunteered their time to support my campaign during the election.

Through long, hot days so many people assisted at pre-poll stations, putting up signs and helping out on election day itself – and I really can’t thank them enough.

While the overall election result is still unclear, I am extremely proud that this was the only LNP electorate to experience an upwards swing in voter support.

But I won’t be resting on my laurels.

I’m looking forward to getting back to Parliament and joining with my colleagues, including newly elected leaders Lawrence Springborg and John-Paul Langbroek, to be a part of a competent, experienced and stable voice for Queensland and our local community.

Locally, I’m straight back into continuing my work with all the communities around the Nanango Electorate.

In particular, I’d love to hear from as many community groups as possible to find out more about local events and the assistance I can offer.

As always, I’m keen to hear about any State issues which need to be brought to my attention.

Taabinga' 2015 School Captains Riley Hood, Chloe Plowman, Jackson Beil and Isabella Hockenhull

One of my first jobs since being back at work is to congratulate our new school leaders for 2015.

On Friday I attended the Taabinga State School leadership induction and it was wonderful to see so many eager young faces ready for a new school year.

Show season also starts this month and on February 21 I’ll be heading out to the Cooyar Show for a good dose of country hospitality and entertainment.

Once again, thank-you so much for putting your faith in me to continue as your local State member.
