Cherbourg artist and musician Rocko Langton ... guest speaker at Gympie Regional Art Gallery

Artworks by Cherbourg’s Yidding Artists group will be featured at an exhibition to mark the 17th birthday of the Gympie Regional Gallery.

The exhibition, “Cherbourg That’s My Home”, will be displayed alongside works by well-known Queensland artists Judy Watson and Gordon Hookey.

It will open on Saturday, March 7, at 11:30am.

On Tuesday, March 10, there will be a “meet the artists” opportunity with Watson, Hookey and Cherbourg artist “Rocko” Langton taking part.

On Monday, March 16, Gympie will come to Cherbourg with a bus trip from the gallery to The Ration Shed and back to give Gympie residents a chance to learn more about the history of Cherbourg.

And then on Tuesday, March 31, historians Lesley Williams and Thom Blake will talk about the history of Barambah and the Ration Shed at the Gympie Gallery.

The exhibition by the Yidding artists will run from March 3 to April 24. Entry is free.
