The inaugural Dinner Under The Stars last year saw Kingaroy’s Memorial Park transformed into a top-class, open-air restaurant

Aficionados of al fresco dining will have another opportunity to dine under the stars on the Friday night before this year’s iconic South Burnett Wine and Food in the Park Festival.

The “Dinner Under The Stars” debuted last year and attracted about 130 guests who enjoyed locally prepared food and drank local wine while listening to entertainment.

“The idea last year was to trial an idea for people to come together and share all the good bits from the Saturday festival – the food, wine, entertainment and good company – but do it in a more formal setting,” South Burnett Events chairman Darren Schmidt said.

“It went off really well and the committee was overwhelmed by the feedback. There would have been a riot had we not done it again.”

This year, tickets for the event – which will be held on March 13 in Kingaroy’s Memorial Park – are available on line at www.trybooking.com/123548

Cost is $80 per ticket which covers meals prepared by award-winning chef Jimmy Stephen and entertainment.

Wine and craft beer are available for sale on the night.

Tickets are strictly limited to just 100.

Darren said the dinner was being sponsored by Mayor Wayne Kratzmann and the South Burnett Regional Council.

“We’re very grateful for the support of the Mayor and the SBRC, who have also supported the Saturday festival with lots of practical help over the years,” he said.
