TAFE Queensland South West plumbing teacher Nuccio Monte has come out on top in a friendly competition against colleague, construction teacher Peter McGrath.
The pair were both finalists at the 2014 Construction Skills Queensland Excellence Awards for the “Construction Trainer of the Year” title.
Nuccio was named the winner at the awards night, held in Brisbane earlier this month.
He said it was humbling to receive recognition for “just doing my job”.
The two teachers both deliver training to students in Kingaroy.
Peter delivers construction training onsite from Kingaroy to Goondiwindi while Nuccio teaches the Certificate IV in Plumbing via videolink to students at Roma, Charleville, Kingaroy and Boggabilla.
