St Mary’s Aged Care Program in Kingaroy will receive Federal Government funding to provide 25 more aged care places.

“Twenty-five new home aged care places will be available following the conclusion of the 2014 Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR),” Member for Maranoa Bruce Scott said today.

“Seniors are the pillar of our community and the ACAR funding means these valuable community members can stay in their region and receive the care and support they need.”

Mr Scott said 136 places were to be delivered in the Darling Downs, Western Downs and South Burnett regions of the electorate.

“This means about $8.024 million worth of investment into residential care places in the Maranoa,” he said.

“The ACAR is a highly competitive process and each application is subject to rigorous assessment aimed at supporting service viability, reducing the compliance burden and increasing business flexibility.

“The Liberal National Coalition Government believes seniors want and deserve to have the support and care they need to live active and healthy lives, and to continue to choose the aged care services they need.”
