Kingaroy State High School’s annual fundraising concert for the school’s instrumental music program looks certain to be a family favorite with its Disney theme.

Instrumental music teacher Matt Phillips said the evening would be filled with heaps of Disney songs from movies such as Frozen, Mary Poppins, the Pirates of the Caribbean, 101 Dalmatians, Toy Story, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid and more.

“This is Disney” is the school’s annual end of year concert.

It will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall on Friday, November 7, from 6:00pm.

“Each year we put on a concert as a chance for the students to showcase their talents to the community. It always has a fun edge to it, and it provides an opportunity for the community to come and hear the best bands around,” Matt said.

The evening will open with the school’s jazz bands (Big Band and Stage Band) playing in the forecourt while a sausage sizzle dinner will be avaialble.

Then at 7:00pm, the audience will head inside the hall to hear the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band.

“The audience is welcome to come dressed in costume and there will be a prize for the best costume,” Matt said.

“My daughters are both coming as Queen Elsa, of course!”

Pre-purchased tickets are available from Kingaroy SHS or Kingaroy Photo Lab ($5 each or $20 family) or at the door for $8.
