Hivesville Country Market held its 6th anniversary markets last Sunday and although it became very hot as the day went on, there was an excellent attendance of visitors and 35 stalls.

The day kicked off with the anniversary cake cutting.

Ken Seng, the original President, had the honour with councillors Kathy Duff and Ros Heit acting as his body guards.

The cake was made by Tash Monk (Tash’s Baked Goods is on Facebook).

This was followed by an exhibition of Tai Chi. The women meet every Tuesday at the Hivesville Oval at 3:30pm. All inquiries can be made through Cathy at the Proston Clinic.

The Proston Line Dancers, led by Irene McDonald, showcased their skills under very difficult heat conditions and showed that age is no barrier when it comes to enjoying yourself.

The President and the Committee would like to extend a big thank you to all the stallholders and visitors for making the day a great success.

The next market will be held on Sunday, November 23.
