A group of riders put on a display of stunts with Honda CBR 600cc road bikes

October 27, 2014

The fourth Motors in Motion at Kingaroy Airport on Saturday was jam-packed with action … on the ground and in the sky.

Displays of drifting, stunt street bikes and a motorkhana kept the bitumen smoking near the aircraft hangars, while the crowds also enjoyed the static displays of literally hundreds of cars, and even a few tanks.

Overhead, there were warbirds strafing the runway and model aircraft displays.

Visitors had the opportunity of booking joyflights in a string of different types of aircraft.

A large display of vintage and veteran motorbikes filled the area in front of the airport terminal.

There were also caravans, V8 tractors and hotrods.

Steve Hood’s 1910 Case Traction Engine proved as popular as ever trundling around the grounds.

Live music was provided by the young musicians from Kingaroy State High School, and even Elvis (Jeff Hancox) put in an appearance.

The day was topped off by the ever popular ping pong ball drop which saw children rushing to collect prizes of toy cars and pushbikes.

  • Emmett Ford, son of Ford On Food columnist Jason Ford, has put together a great video snapshot of all the Motors In Motion action (see below).
