The serious competition to find Outback Joe began today …

After scrutineering at Kingaroy Airport, 15 UAV teams from eight countries qualified to take part in the 2014 Outback Challenge.

Eight Australian teams passed scrutineering.

The UAV teams that passed this final hurdle are now taking to the air in turn to begin their “rescue attempt’.

The flight order for today, tomorrow and Friday is:

  • Monash UAS (Australia)
  • Perth UAV (Australia)
  • Compass UAV (Australia)
  • Swiss Fang (Switzerland)
  • MelAvio (Poland)
  • VAMUdeS (Canada)
  • SFWA (Australia)
  • Robota (USA)
  • Rescue Robotics (Australia)
  • Team Aetournos (France)
  • H2Joe (Australia)
  • Canberra UAV (Australia)
  • Team Thunder (Australia)
