South Burnett farmers will have the opportunity next week to speak firsthand with a  parliamentary delegation coming to the region to assess how helpful the State Government’s drought package has been.

The chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Resources & Environment, Ian Rickuss, and committee member Anne Maddern will be visiting the South Burnett next Thursday (May 1) to speak to farmers about the drought package and assess what could be done better.

They’ll be visiting a number of local properties, including Smithfield Fieldlot and  Caminda Piggery, before attending a public meeting at the Town Common Hall in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy.

All local primary producers are invited to attend this meeting, which will get underway at 6:30pm.
