The 3rd annual Motors in Motion festival at Kingaroy Airport on Saturday had motors revving on the ground and in the air.

There were cars from every era, from vintage automobiles to the latest “drift” cars ready to strut their stuff on the motorkhana track.

A display of motorbikes and human-powered vehicles was located in front of the Airport Terminal.

The festival this year also made use of the nearby Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club’s new grounds to host V8 tractors, farm machinery and a display of static engines.

A fly-in attracted a number of warbirds and other aircraft, some of which were available for joyflights.

And while the “big” planes buzzed overhead, model aircraft also zoomed over the tarmac to entertain the crowd.

The “drifting” and timed motorkhana runs drew a good crowd of onlookers to the area behind the hangars.

The main event of the day – as always – was the ping pong ball drop, a Kingaroy tradition that is always enormously popular.

Motors In Motion committee president Kevin Krosch told southburnett.com.au he was pleased with the day and estimated the crowd “at least” as big as last year, although the gate takings had yet to be tallied.
