The Burnett Softball Association held a “Have A Go Day” on Saturday at the softball grounds in Nanango and  … but don’t worry if you missed out, they’ll be doing it again next Saturday, too.

Club spokesman Brett Reeve said the season plans for both the adult and junior competitions were still being finalised but at this stage it will kick off on October 19.

There had also been a suggestion that the children’s competition be held on Friday afternoons and the adults’ competition mid-week, but nothing had been confirmed as yet.

The club’s next major activity is a “Batter Up” day which will be held at the Burnett Street softball grounds in Nanango on October 5 from 9:00am-2:00pm.

Cost is $54 which includes a softball and a softball glove, but the first 25 registrations are free. Registrations must be received by September 23.

Softball Batter Up is a fun, skill-based development program.

Brett said the club had some other exciting activities planned for later in the year, including an All-Stars game. More details about this would be released when final arrangements were confirmed.
