The best of the South Burnett were named on Saturday night at the annual South Burnett Sub-Chamber Presentation Dinner at Goomeri’s Hall of Memory.

The winners will go on to represent the region at next month’s Brisbane Exhibition.

As usual, the Goomeri Show Society played host to the Sub-Chamber Finals in conjunction with its annual Beef Bonanza.

And while this year’s Australia Day floods meant the total number of entries in some sections was down on usual, competition was still fierce.

On Saturday morning the final judging for the Young Judges (Stud Beef), Young Paraders and Young Judges (Prime Beef) took place at the showgrounds before the Beef Bonanza got underway.

This was followed by the judging of entrants in the State Ute Muster Series.

In the afternoon, contestants in the prestigious Miss Showgirl and Rural Ambassador Awards spent several hours at nearby Boonara Homestead being interviewed by judges.

The Presentation Dinner itself got underway at 7:00pm at the Hall Of Memory, and during the course of the evening the winners and runners-up in all categories were announced.

Attendees included many competition entrants, their friends and families; judges; and representatives from local Show Societies.
