December 20, 2012
South Burnett Regional Council has broken with tradition and will be open between the Christmas and New Year’s public holidays.
“Traditionally the Council is closed for two weeks over the Christmas period,” Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said.
“This year we have decided to keep the Kingaroy office open for residents throughout the region who may still need to be in contact with the Council.
“We appreciate that there are many businesses and essential services that continue to assist our residents over the Christmas break and I’d like to acknowledge those who continue to work over the break.
“Council will be closed from 12.30pm on Friday, December 21, so all of our staff can have a get together for Christmas. Council’s team members have worked extremely hard throughout 2012 and Friday is a great opportunity for all of our staff to get together and celebrate all they have accomplished this year.
“I’d like to also take this opportunity to wish all of the residents of the South Burnett a Merry Christmas.”
South Burnett Regional Council’s Kingaroy Customer Service Centre will be open:
The Kingaroy Customer Service Centre will be closed each day from 12:30pm to 1:15pm for lunch.
Blackbutt, Nanango, Wondai and Murgon Customer Service Centres will be closed for the festive season from Friday, December 21, and will re-open at 8:30am on Monday, January 7.
