Tamika Schultz, 11, took part in a recent Booie Spinning Group meeting
September 18, 2012

The newly formed Booie Spinners and Weavers Group is looking for more members interested in spinning, weaving, knitting and crochet.

The group’s members share a common interest in one or more of these areas and are happy to share their knowledge with anyone who’d like to learn more about any of these time-honoured skills.

The Booie Spinners specialise in Alpaca wool – though ordinary wool is just fine, too – and they meet on the third Saturday of each month.

Meetings are usually held at a location near Kingaroy but also at other venues, such as a recent meeting at the Kingaroy Art Gallery where members got to show off their talents to Gallery visitors.

And while most members are adults, young people with an interest in any of these areas are also welcome to join in.

You can find out more about the group by phoning Myrie Cobby (spin and card) on (07) 4162-2497, Julia Jeffery (spin, card and knit) on (07) 4168-4914, Robyn Cobby (knit and crochet) on (07) 4162-2765 or Rhonda Schultz (crochet) on (07) 4163-6887.
