Community groups across the Nanango electorate have been invited to put in a bid to share in $12 million available through the State Government’s new “Everyone’s Environment” grants program.
Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said applications for the grants opened on July 1.
“The grants of between $2000 and $100,000 are to support local community projects which help stop environmental degradation,” Mrs Frecklington said.
“The environment is one asset we can’t afford to lose.
“Individuals can make a small difference, but when groups of individuals act together to improve or save our environment then bigger things can be achieved.
“Whatever we do today affects the future for our children, and whatever positive actions we take now mean a cleaner, better future.”

Mrs Frecklington said the State Government was particularly interested in supporting partnerships between community organisations and local schools.
