Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today. The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.

The walking group is for mums and bubs, nans and prams and each walk will be led by a personal trainer and QCWA Country Kitchen facilitators. South Burnett Computer Users Group - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Computer Users Group will be holding their fortnightly meeting from 10:00am today at the Orana Drop-In Centre at MacDiarmid Street in Kingaroy. SBCUG is a not-for-profit group that aims to help seniors get the most from their computers. Beginners through to more advanced users are catered for with demonstrations and practical lessons. If you're interested in becoming confident using your computer, you're very welcome to come and learn in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The meeting starts at 10:00am with a short break at 11:30am, and then continues to 1:00pm. 2017 Murgon Music Muster
The first day of the four-day Murgon Music Muster will get underway at the PCYC complex next to the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon between 3:00pm and 10:00pm this evening. The Muster is being organised by the Murgon Rotary Club and over the next three days it will feature a wide range of country and bush balladeering talents. Tonight's show will focus on walk-up artists, and a freshly-cooked dinner will be available in the grounds at reasonable prices, along with an indoor bar. Admission today is just $10 and overnight camping sites are available in the showgrounds for between $7 (unpowered) and $9 (powered) per night if you want to camp over.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their latest monthly exhibition for 2017 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be hosting three separate exhibitions: artist Glenn Kelly in the main gallery; the Darling Dows Textile Art Group in the front gallery; and the Soul Sisters (aka Trish Erkens and Joy Carter) in the rear gallery. At The Wineries
Three of the South Burnett's wineries will be open for lunch today. At Moffatdale, Moffatdale Ridge will have their cellar door verandah cafe open for light meals and snacks from 10:00am to 4:00pm. And in Kingaroy, Cranes Winery and Kingsley Grove will be open the same hours, serving up wines and platters (at Cranes) and wines, cheese platters and wood-fired pizzas (at Kingsley Grove). Judo Tournament - Murgon
The Murgon Judo Club will be holding a Grass Roots Tournament at Murgon Town Hall in Gore Street, Murgon from 12:00 noon today (competition starts at 1:00pm and runs to around 5:00pm). Admission is $10 for participants but spectators are free, and everyone is welcome.

Kennel Jam Session - Hivesville
The monthly Kennel Jam Session will be held at the Hivesville Hotel in Main Street, Hivesville from 5:00pm until late tonight. All musicians young and old are welcomed at these sessions, and so are all music genres. All the necessary backline gear is provided, too - just bring along your guitar, your voice and your friends and enjoy a great night of music. Accommodation is available at special rates for music lovers on the night, there's free camping nearby, and dinner will be served from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and routinely attract 300 to 400 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Jacaranda Day - Goombungee
Goombungeee will be celebrating its annual Jacaranda Day festival today, kicking off with markets that will start at 8:00am, and which will be followed by the town's annual first Saturday of November rodeo at 3:00pm. In between there'll be displays of the town's history at the Rosalie Shire Historical Society Museum, an exhibition at the Rosalie Gallery, lots of displays of vintage machinery and engines, children's entertainment, open gardens, live music from local bands, decorated trees in Mocatta Street, self-guided historic walking tours of the CBD, food and fun. Brisbane Valley Rail Trail 100km Cycling Challenge
The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail 100km Cycling Challenge between Esk and Yarraman will kick off at 6:00am this morning at Pipeliner Park in Esk and conclude around 2:00pm this afternoon at Station Park in Yarraman. 2017 Murgon Music Muster
The final day of the four-day Murgon Music Muster will get underway at the PCYC complex next to the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon at 8:00am this morning with an Invited and Walk-Up Artists Concert that will last until late afternoon. The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be presenting the first performance of their new theatre-restaurant show "Jungle Juice" at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai at 7:00pm tonight. Jungle Juice tells the story of a plane carrying two rock stars and a reporter that crashes on an island which has a severe man shortage. The result is a zany tropical cocktail of melodrama and music, somewhere between Brigadoon and The Gods Must be Crazy. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Yarraman Horse Ride
The Yarraman Agricultural Society will be holding the 21st annual Yarraman Horse Ride today - a 26km trail ride around neighbouring properties. The ride will leave the Yarraman Showgrounds on the New England Highway west of town at 8:00am following a compulsory briefing at 7:30am. The cost of the ride is $20 for TRA members or $35 for non-members, which includes cold water throughout the day (lunch can be purchased in the morning before the ride). Queensland State Election
The Queensland State elections are being held today and all enrolled voters in the South Burnett are required to cast a vote for their chosen candidate in either the Nanango or Callide electorates (depending on where they live). Bluey In Kingaroy For Bernie
John "Bluey" O'Gorman OAM will be giving a 40-minute talk about the Fitzgerald era, his years as president of the Queensland Police Union and National Police Remembrance Day at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. John served with the Queensland Police Force for 1966 to 2006 and was one of its most decorated and high-profile officers. He is coming to the South Burnett as part of a fundraiser being held at the RSL between 11:00amand 3:00pm today to assist long-serving Kingaroy property officer Bernie Kemp, who is bravely battling cancer. Apart from Bluey's talk, the fundraiser will also offer guests a great two course Christmas-themed lunch with tea and coffee at 12:30pm, plus raffles. Dress is smart casual (or uniform) and tickets are $30 per head. The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.

Country Kitchens Walking Group - Kingaroy
The Country Kitchens Walking Group will be leaving the QCWA Rooms at 122 Kingaroy Street in Kingaroy at 9:30am this morning for a leisurely one-hour walk around town. The walking group is for mums and bubs, nans and prams and each walk will be led by a personal trainer and QCWA Country Kitchen facilitators. The group is open to anyone who'd like to join in, and the walks will happen at the same time and place each Thursday during school terms - a great way to have fun and make new friends! More details? The South Burnett Computer Users Group will be holding their fortnightly meeting from 10:00am today at the Orana Drop-In Centre at MacDiarmid Street in Kingaroy. SBCUG is a not-for-profit group that aims to help seniors get the most from their computers. Beginners through to more advanced users are catered for with demonstrations and practical lessons. If you're interested in becoming confident using your computer, you're very welcome to come and learn in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The meeting starts at 10:00am with a short break at 11:30am, and then continues to 1:00pm. You can bring your own laptop to follow along on the lessons and get help with any problems you have, or learn on one of the groups laptops if you have a desktop model at home. More details? St Joseph's Bingo - Murgon
St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be hosting bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.

NaTDA Meeting - Nanango
The Nanango Tourism & Development Association will be holding its monthly meeting in the Long Hai Room at Nanango RSL in George Street, Nanango at 5:30pm tonight. NaTDA aims to assist, foster, instigate and/or manage any project that could contribute to the advancement of the communities in and around Nanango, and it represents the interests of the Nanango community, business and tourism operators. All interested people are very welcome to come along and get involved! Afterwards, the meeting will be followed by an informal, optional social dinner at the RSL's bistro.
