Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. Kingaroy Community Kitchen
The Kingaroy Community Kitchen will be holding its regular Thursday morning meeting at St Mary's Hall at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 9:30am to around 1:00pm today. Community Kitchen members learn how to cook a variety of budget conscious home-cooked meals, then sit down together for a communal lunch afterwards to enjoy the results for the cost of a gold coin donation. Tai Chi For Health - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Arthritis & Osteoporosis Support Group will be running Tai Chi classes at the Uniting Church Hall in Alford Street, Kingaroy this morning. An intermediate class will run from 9:00am to 10:00am, followed by a beginners class from 10:15am to 11:15am. The classes aim to help relieve pain and improve quality of life, relieve stress, sharpen concentration, and improve balance, posture and mobility. St Joseph's Bingo - Murgon

Old Time Dancing Classes - Murgon

The class caters to all levels from beginners to advanced, all in a fun and social atmosphere lead by a qualified dance instructor. The Nanango Stags rugby league football club will be hosting a Sign-On Afternoon at Fred Kassulke Oval off the D'Aguilar Highway south of the CBD from 3:30pm this afternoon. New players can pop down and pre-order their uniforms, have a free snag and an ice block, as well as meet most of this season's coaches. Today's sign-on is also a great chance to pay fees because today is the only time the club will be accepting cash (50% of fees are due by March 31 and the balance by April 30).

South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their first monthly exhibition for 2018 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be hosting ""Twists and Turns" by well-known South Burnett artist Shannus O'Sullivan; "Escape From The Past" by Rhonda Trivett and Rhondda Jones; and "Combination" by the Tangled Threads Group, while children from Tingoora State school will be exhibiting in Kidz Korner. The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. The Nanango Stamp Club will be holding their 24th annual Stamp Fair from 9:00am to 3:30pm today at the Nanango State High School Hall at the end of Cairns Street, Nanango. The event will feature a philatelic auction, a cent auction, a bargain table and a very busy canteen. There'll also be lots of great displays to delight any true philatelist's heart; three professional stamp dealers and 16 to 18 stamp clubs in attendance. Proston Rally
The Proston Car Rally Club will be holding their quarterly CAMS Khanacross Multiclub Rally at their racing track this weekend. The club's track is located 7.5km west of Proston on the Proston-Boondooma Road, and racing will commence around 8:00am this morning and conclude around 1:30pm tomorrow. Up to 50 cars attend Proston Rally Club meetings from all over Queensland and NSW and spectators are very welcome. There'll be a BBQ and soft drinks stand running throughout the event, as well as a hearty breakfast supplied by the Proston Lions club early on Sunday morning. The Kingaroy Clay Target Club will be holding the first day of their annual Two Day Shoot at the clay target shooting grounds in Goodger Road, Kingaroy (opposite Kingaroy Airport) from 1:00pm this afternoon. This year's Shoot will have three main events: a 30TGT Medley sponsored by Ransen Timber; a 30TGT Single Barrel Championship sponsored by Ken Mills Toyota; and a 50TGT Double Barrel Championship. Popular South Burnett entertainer Luke Medcalf will be performing in the front bar at the Kingaroy Hotel-Motel from 8:00pm until late tonight. There'll also be a pop-up vodka bar in the beer garden. Admission is free.

Tom Curtain's Territory Time - Kumbia
Popular country and western entertainer Tom Curtain and his friend Martin Oakes will be performing in concert at the Kumbia Campdraft Grounds and Racecourse from 4:30pm (when the gates open) until around midnight tonight. Tom, who's now based at Katherine in the Northern Territory, grew up at Old Boyneside just out of Kumbia and is returning to his old stomping grounds via Tamworth (where he picked up two Golden Guitars last weekend) to deliver a really great show that will include many songs from his latest album "Territory Time". A licensed bar and BBQ will be operating and there'll be lots of music and dancing, too. Tickets are $20 for adults or $10 for students aged 6 to 17 (children 5 years and under are free). If you're heading up to the Bunya Mountains today, go via Maidenwell and you can browse the Maidenwell Markets on the centre island in the heart of town between 8:00am and 12:00 noon this morning. These markets offer a range of arts and crafts, local produce, plants, home baking, bric-a-brac, sauces, jams, chutneys, coffee, food and lots more. The 10th annual Reef & Beef Extravaganza will be held at Ironpot Hall in Ironpot from 5:30pm onwards this evening. This all-you-can-eat event will offer guests as many prawns, oysters, Moreton Bay bugs, scallops, whole cooked Red Emperor and pan-fried reef fish fillets, rib steaks and BBQ rib fillet steaks as they can pack in, along with salads, vegies and dessert. Maidenwell Rural Fire Brigade Open Day

Boondooma Yellowbelly Fishing Competition
The 28th annual Boondooma Dam Yellowbelly Fishing Competition will be held at Boondooma Dam near Proston all this weekend, commencing at 5:00am this morning and concluding at around lunchtime tomorrow. The event - organised by the Boondooma Dam Fish Stocking Association in conjunction with a bevy of sponsors - will have adult and junior sections and numerous cash prizes for each weigh-in period. A licensed bar, BBQ and food and drink stalls will be operating for the duration and accommodation for competitors is available at the adjoining Lake Boondooma Tourist Park. Competition entry fees are $20 for adults and $5 for children and all competitors will need to have a Stocked Impoundment Permit to take part. The Queensland Farmers Federation will be holding a one day workshop in Kingaroy today help South Burnett farm businesses reduce risks and increase efficiency and compliance. The workshop is being funded by the Queensland Government and coordinated through the Queensland Agriculture Workforce Network, and its focus will be on providing farm employers and team leaders with practical information and resources to improve their workplace health and safety and people management skills. Cooyar Show
The 69th annual Cooyar Show will be held at the Cooyar Showgrounds at Rangemore Road in Cooyar from 7:00am this morning (when campdrafting gets underway) through until very late tonight. The Cooyar Show is always a really great family day out, with free face painting and sample bags for children. This year's Grand Parade will run at 12:15pm, followed by the official opening at 12:30pm. As well as all the usual highlights including pavilion exhibits, led steer and stud beef competitions and a fun Sideshow Alley, there’ll also be a Ute Muster, a whacky Smash Up Derby, chainsaw and post ripping events, Young Judges & Paraders competitions and the Outback Thunda monster truck. They'll be followed in the evening by live music, a giant fireworks display at around 8:30pm and the ever-popular Cooyar Bull Ride. The Nanango Race Club will be holding the South Burnett's first race meeting for 2018 at the Lee Park Raceway off the D'Aguilar Highway just south of Nanango from 11:00am to around 5:00pm today. Today's races will have a "Floral Shirts, Floppy Hats and Floaty Dresses" theme and everyone is encouraged to dress up in their best outfits to be in the running for some great Moffatdale Ridge Fashions Of The Field prizes. The annual Proston Show Dance will be held at the Proston Community Hall in Rodney Street, Proston from 7:30pm until late tonight. The dance is the traditional curtain-raiser for the annual Proston Show on March 9-10, and since this will be the Show's 60th anniversary tonight's get-together will have a 1960s fashion theme. The Wondai State School P&C will be holding a Wondai Royale Casino Night at the Wondai Town Hall in Mackenzie Street from 7:00pm tonight as a fundraiser to purchase digital technology resources for the school. There'll be a suit and cocktail dress code and guests at this licensed event can get to try their hand at Blackjack, Poker, Roulette or a Money Wheel. There'll also be live entertainment, auctions, a raffle and prizes for the best dressed. The $40 per head entry fee includes funny money (to gamble with), a lucky door ticket and finger foods, and tickets can be obtained at the door. Everyone who's 18 or older is welcome. Wondai Country Markets
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's popular monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon today. Today's markets will feature stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing.
