The annual Wondai Carols In The Park community carols will be held at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 6:00pm tonight. In addition to performances by the Stolzenberg Brothers, local choirs and a visit by Santa (who'll by arriving in the CROW-FM ute), there'll also be a Wondai Kindy BBQ, soft drinks, tea and coffee available - all you need to bring is a blanket or portable chairs for seating (the Council will also be making 80 seats availble too). Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai

The Kingaroy art Gallery will be opening their 7th annual Disability Art Show, which displays art and craft works in all media created by local people with a disability. Murgon RC Club Race Meeting - Murgon
CANCELLED: The Murgon RC Club for radio-controlled cars will be holding the 7th (and final) round of their Winter Series at Angelfield Aerodrome at the end of Macalister Street, Murgon from 2:00pm onwards this afternoon (drive w-a-y past the Showgrounds along the dirt road and through the gate marked "Private Property"). Competitors will be racing six gruelling 7-minute laps before the adrenalin packed finals, and there'll be a BBQ and soft drinks available too. Maidenwell Christmas Tree
The Maidenwell QCWA will be kicking off Maidenwell's Yuletide celebrations today with the launch of the 49th annual Maidenwell Christmas Tree at Maidenwell Hall. Events will get underway with a BYO community BBQ at the Hall around 6:00pm with a great $2 sausage sizzle and a slim $5 entry fee. After this, children from Tanduringie State School will sing Christmas carols and dance for the crowd. In Kingaroy, Warriors will play RSL Services at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street from noon onwards; while in Murgon, Murgon Diggers will test their mettle against the Kumbia Rattlers at Murgon Showgrounds (also from noon) and the Murgon Colts will play Barambah. Spectators and supporters are very welcome at all games.

Nanango Christmas Races

The Nanango Race Club will be holding their annual Christmas Race Meeting at the Lee Park Raceway off the D'aguilar Highway just south of Nanango from 12:30pm to around 5:00pm this afternoon. Today's meeting will have a "Shades of Christmas" theme and everyone is encouraged to dress up in their best and most colourful Yuletide outfits to be in the running for some great Moffatdale Ridge Fashions Of The Field prizes. The club's popular Pink Champagne bar will be running all day too and there'll also be a licensed bar and BBQ operating under the new, extended covered area; bookmakers and an on-course tote; great live entertainment; and even a special visit by Santa. A lot of people like to use the Christmas Race Meeting for early Christmas parties with workmates, and you can picnic on the lawns or even bring your own marquee. This will be a 5-race meeting and buses will be running to the races from Kingaroy's Glendon Street Bus Depot (12:00 noon) and the Nanango RSL at 12:30pm. Gates will open at the track itself at around 10:00am so that go-getters can get a head start on that all-important socialising. Kingaroy Community Christmas Carols
Kingaroy's annual Community Christmas Carols service will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 5:15pm to around 7:30pm tonight. This year's gathering is being presented by the Kingaroy & District Ministers Association and several sponsors and will feature performances by several local bands and choirs. Food stalls will be operating from 5:15pm along with glowstick sales, soft drinks and other beverages, and the singing will begin at around 6:00pm. Families who want to sit near the front should bring blankets and cushions to sit on (BYO chairs if you want to sit further back). The Joy Of Christmas - Murgon and Wondai
The South Burnett's 2014 Christmas season will continue today when the South Burnett Chorale present the final two performances of their annual Christmas Charity Concert series - which this year is called "The Joy Of Christmas". The first performance will be held at the Castra Retirement Home at Cooper Street in Murgon from 2:00pm to 3:30pm; and the second at the Wondai Lutheran Church at 39 Edward Street in Wondai from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. These terrific concerts feature many of our region's very best singers providing stirring and heart-warming family entertainment that the Chorale's members have practiced and sweated over for months - and they do it all for local charities. Yarraman Christmas Markets & Carnival
CANCELLED: Yarraman will be celebrating the Festive Season with two events today: a Yarraman Christmas Market at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways, which will get underway at 7:00am and run until the afternoon; and the annual Yarraman Christmas Carnival, which will be held at Errol Munt Park just off the New England Highway from 4:00pm to a little after 10:00pm this evening. The Christmas Markets will feature a range of Christmas gifts, goodies and Yuletide essentials including fruit and vegies; home-made jams and preserves; fruit cakes; second-hand goods; plants; and a sausage sizzle. The evening's Christmas Carnival will feature free slides, free rides, food stalls and musical entertainment, as well as a special visit by Santa Claus at around 7:30pm when he'll arrive with presents for the children. After a dinner break at the BBQ, this will be followed with a giant fireworks display at 8:00pm and then the entertainment will continue until around 10:00pm. Everyone is welcome along to this popular Yuletide celebration and admission is 100% free. A licensed bar will also be operating, and there'll be a ham wheel too. A completely free Bush Kids Christmas Carnival will be held at the Windera school oval from 2:30pm onwards this afternoon. Kingaroy's Motel Oasis at 50 Walter Road will be holding a special New Year's Eve Party in their Midnight At The Oasis Restaurant from 6:30pm until around 1:00am this evening. It will feature live entertainment by popular South Burnett country rock performer Arthur Nettelfield; a great all-you-can-eat Summer Smorgasboard from 7:00pm to 9:00pm; and accommodation will be available at the motel too for an extra fee if you don't want to drive home. New Year's Eve With The Stepping Stones - Wondai

New Year's Eve Mask Party - Kingaroy
The Commercial Hotel at the corner of Glendon and Haly Streets in Kingaroy will be holding a Mask Party from 8:00pm until around 3:00am tonight. The party will feature multiple DJ's perfornming on multiple stages, and admission is free if you get inside before 9:00pm, otherwise it's $10. Everyone is welcome.
