Qualified instructors will be demonstrating the use of all the equipment in the centre - great stuff like lathes, drills etc - and if you're a man interested in restoring or manufacturing wood or metal products and socialising with other men who have similar interests, then this could be the place for you! Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their ninth monthly exhibition for 2014 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be hosting the annual South Burnett Regional Art Competition, which will award $4,800 in prizes to the region's best artists in the competition's Art, Photography, Sculpture and Ceramics sections. Maidenwell Folk Festival Jam Night The second day of the Maidenwell Folk Festival will be held in and around the historic Maidenwell Hotel all day today, and late into the night. Heritage Nanango Mardi Gras Cup The Nanango Race Club will be holding their annual Heritage Nanango Mardi Gras Cup Race Meeting at the Lee Park Raceway off the D'Aguilar Highway just south of Nanango from 10:00am to around 5:00pm today - always one of their most colourful meetings of the year. 2014 Relay For Life Marathon - Kingaroy The South Burnett's annual Relay For Life fun walk will be held on the main oval at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Steet, Kingaroy from 3:00pm this afternoon right through until 9:00am tomorrow morning. This year 43 teanms will be taking part in the all-night walk-a-thon in a bid to raise more than $100,000 for the Queensland Cancer Council. The Waterhole Rocks Festival - Nanango The first day of the three-day Waterhole Rocks rock 'n' roll campout weekend will roar into life at the Nanango Showgrounds at 7:00pm this evening and continue on until late tonight. The festival is devoted to all things associated with 1950s and 1960s rock 'n' roll. This includes hot rods, custom cars, vintage caravans, driving games and dance lessons, all backed up by rock 'n' roll acts. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). South Burnett Motors In Motion Festival - Kingaroy The fourth annual Motors In Motion Festival will be held at the Kingaroy Airport on the Goodger Road south of Kingaroy from 8:30am this morning through until around 4:00pm this afternoon. The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). The Nanango Race Club will be holding their annual Heritage Nanango Mardi Gras Cup Race Meeting at the Lee Park Raceway off the D'Aguilar Highway just south of Nanango from 10:00am to around 5:00pm today - always one of their most colourful meetings of the year. Today's races will have a "Tartan On The Track" theme and everyone is encouraged to dress up in their best tartan outfits to be in the running for some great Moffatdale Ridge Fashions Of The Field prizes. The race club's popular Pink Champagne Bar will be serving up platters all day if you fancy a bite; a licensed bar and BBQ will be operating under the extended covered area; the race club canteen will be open for sit-down dining; children will be well catered for with entertainment; and there'll be plenty of bookmakers and an on-course tote available in the betting ring to take your wagers. The first round of the South Burnett's A Grade T20 cricket competition will be held at the Murgon Sportsgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon today. At 12:00 noon, Warriors will play Nanango on Field 1 while Services play Wondai on Field 2. The South Burnett's annual Relay For Life fun walk will be held on the main oval at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Steet, Kingaroy from 3:00pm this afternoon right through until 9:00am tomorrow morning. This year 43 teanms will be taking part in the all-night walk-a-thon in a bid to raise more than $100,000 for the Queensland Cancer Council. Spectators are very welcome to come along and cheer the walkers on as they march around the ring (abnd around... and around again...). The Relay's popular annual Candlelight Ceremony - held in remembrance of friends and relatives lost to cancer - will be run at about 6:30pm this evening. There'll also be food and drink stalls in the grounds if you get hungry or thirsty.
Yarraman's annual Colours Of Yarraman Festival will be held in Yarraman today and tomorrow. Today the Festival will kick off at the Yarraman Bowls Club in Margaret Street at 12:00 noon with a regional bowls competition (nominations are essential). In the evening, Youth Connect have organised an outdoor movie night in Errol Munt Reserve for Yarraman’s younger residents, and “The Lego Movie” will begin screening at 7:00pm. The first day of the three-day Waterhole Rocks rock 'n' roll campout weekend will roar into life at the Nanango Showgrounds at 7:00pm this evening and continue on until late tonight. The festival is devoted to all things associated with 1950s and 1960s rock 'n' roll. This includes hot rods, custom cars, vintage caravans, driving games and dance lessons, all backed up by rock 'n' roll acts.
