April Fools' Day
Today is April Fools' Day (sometimes called All Fools' Day) and it's celebrated on April 1st every year by playing practical jokes and spreading hoaxes. The jokes and their victims are called April fools, and people playing April Fool jokes expose their prank by shouting "April Fool!" Some media report fake stories on April 1, which are usually explained in the next edition. However, April Fools jokes can only be played until noon - try a prank after this and the perpetrator is the April Fool. Note: Although April Fools Day has been known since the 14th century and has become popular world-wide since the 19th century, the day itself is not a public holiday in any country.
