2017 Federal Budget
- The 2017 Federal Budget will be released at 7:30pm AEST tonight, when Treasurer Scott Morrison (pictured at right) delivers his Budget speech. This year's Budget has been marked by few leaks, but whether this means it will be a tough Budget or an unremarkable one is something we'll all have to wait and see. The Budget will be extensively covered on ABC News and ABC online tonight, and somewhat less intensively covered by commercial TV networks.
Proston Men's Shed
- The Proston Men's Shed will be meeting at the old railway station building at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston for its regular Tuesday meeting today, kicking off with a cuppa at 9:00am. Rocky Horror Picture Night - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Lions will be holding a Rocky Horror Picture Night at Kingaroy's Satellite Cinema in Short Street from 6:30pm this evening. The get-together is a fundraiser for the Lions' Miss Personality Quest, and everyone is encouraged to wear their best Rocky Horror gear (though it's not compulsory). The night will kick off with wine and cheese at 6:30pm, followed by a special screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show around 7:30pm. Tuesday Night Indoor Bowls - Wondai
- The Wondai Indoor Bowls Club will be holding its regular Tuesday meeting at the Wondai Town Hall in Mackenzie Street, Wondai at 7:30pm this evening. Three games of 12 ends are played, lasting up to three hours, and playing fees are $3. Boost Your Business Workshop - Kingaroy
- Business coach Bruce Campbell will be presenting a workshop in the White Room at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 5:30pm to 8:00pm tonight. Bruce, who is a four-time winner of Global Coach of the Year and is also an International and Asia-Pacific Stevie award winner, will be teaching his strategies to lift profits and free up valuable time. The workshop would be of interest to any business owner and it's free, but to get a seat you'll need to RSVP online by Tuesday, May 2.
Nanango Scout Club Meeting
- The Nanango Scout Club - which meets every Tuesday night during school terms - will be holding its regular weekly meeting at the Scout Den at 40 Henry Street, Nanango (just next to the police station) from 5:30pm to around 7:00pm tonight. The group currently has three sections in operation: Joeys (for children aged 6 to 8 years); Cubs (8-11 years); and Scouts (11-15 years). Danny's Diner - Kingaroy
- Danny's Diner - a free community dinner - will be held at the Uniting Church Hall at the corner of Alford and Youngman streets in Kingaroy from 5:30pm to 7:00pm tonight. The dinner is an initiative of the Kingaroy District Ministry Association for the benefit of anyone who's hungry or otherwise doing it tough. 85th Annual Kingaroy Eisteddfod
- The ninth day of the 85th annual Kingaroy Eisteddfod will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy today. The Eisteddfod will be judging Solos/Duos/Trios dance entries, which will continue daily until Friday, May 12th. Spectators are very welcome.
Tuesday Night Trivia - Kingaroy
