Super Sunday Soccer - Kingaroy
As part of this weekend's 40th anniversary celebrations for the region's peak football association Football South Burnett, there'll be a Super Sunday of soccer games played all day on the hallowed grounds of Tom Alford Oval in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy to mark the occasion. Activities will kick off with a recovery breakfast around 8:00am before Gunnettes and Panthers take to the park at 9:00am in the Round 3 Women's Division match, followed by Gunners and Panthers at 11:00am in the Men's Division. After lunch, Wests' women will play Barambah at 1:00pm, before Wests and Barambah's men's squads test their mettle at 3:00pm. A canteen will be operating in the grounds all day, there's no admission fee and spectators are very welcome!
Men's Triples - Murgon
The Murgon Bowls Club in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding the second (and final) day of their weekend-long Men's Triples Competition today. Today's activities will feature two playing sessions that will kick off at 9:00am. Spectators are very welcome. More details from the bowls club on (07) 4168-1043 or 0408-759-291.
Country Music Friends - Yarraman
The Country Music Friends will be holding their first Sunday of the month informal concert at the Yarraman Community Hall in Browne Street from 1:00pm this afternoon. New players are very welcome and you can obtain more details by phoning Jenny on (07) 4163-2469.
South Burnett Rep Trials - Kingaroy
Fans of junior rugby league should head to T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy today. The grounds will be hosting Rep Trials against Dalby to see which young players will have the honour of wearing a South Burnett Eagles jersey in this year's 47th Battalion competition. The day will kick off at 8:30am when U16s boys play Dalby, followed at 9:40am by U14s boys; by U17s girls at 10:40am; U12s boys at 11:40am; U14s girls at 12:25pm; and U13s boys at 1:20pm. Spectators are very welcome!
Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Kilkivan Railway Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Blackbutt Roast Lunch
The Blackbutt RSL at the corner of Douglas and Muir Streets in Blackbutt will be hosting their first Sunday of the month Roast Luch from 11:30am to around 12:45pm today. The lunch offers all the trimmings of a traditional roast for guests who love to eat a roast, but hate preparing them and doing the washing up afterwards. It offers a choice of pork or beef served with roast potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, peas and gravy or apple sauce for $15 per head. Everyone is welcome but bookings are essential. Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
