Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their latest monthly exhibition with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be hosting its annual “Wondai Garden Expo Competition”, where artists submit works to the theme "Gardens Of The South Burnett" to compete for $1000 in cash prizes (courtesy of the Wondai Garden Expo committee). This is always a very popular annual competition and entries will fill all three of the main galleries, while works by students from a South Burnett school will be shown in Kidz Korner. As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from a South Burnett winery, live entertainment and lots of fun socialising. QRRRWN Barambah Branch Meeting
The Barambah branch of the Queensland Rural, Regional and Remote Women's Network will be holding their first Friday of the month meeting today. The branch meets at a different venue each month, starting with smoko at 9:30am before the meeting gets underway at 10:00am. New members and guests are always welcome! Fromseier & Hockings - Nanango
Danish folk duo Fromseier & Hockings will be performing at The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) at 7:00pm this evening. Tickets are $25 per head and are strictly limited to 65. They will be available at the door or by phoning Jane on 0400-631-677.
Kingaroy RSL Bingo
Bingo games will be running at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help local good causes. Everyone is welcome. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
School Holiday Activities - Nanango
Creative Connections at 8 George Street in Nanango (formerly the Winds Of Change Art Gallery) will be holding school holiday activities for children and their parents from 9:00am to 11:30am today. Children will be able to take part in Weird Science, while parents can learn how to make string baskets in a separate workshop. Children under 5 are welcome to participate with parental supervision, and children aged 5-12 will be supervised by the event facilitators, who all have a Blue Card. Course fees are $10 for children, $5 for parents and include morning tea, but a booking is necessary to plan catering and staffing. More details? Phone Nazrin on 0415-392-466.
PCYC School Vacation Activities
The South Burnett PCYC will be offering school holiday activities at Taabinga State School, Cherbourg and Murgon today. At Taabinga, today will be a PJ and Movie Day - kids should wear their pyjamas, and will be watching a movie in the resources centre with popcorn. At Cherbourg, there'll be general school holiday activities. And at Murgon, there'll be a $50 excursion to Aussie World that includes transport, lunch and all day rides. More details? Free Laser Skirmish - Yarraman
Toowoomba Regional Council's Youthconnect service will be offering free laser skirmish games at the Errol Munt Sports Centre in Errol Munt Park, Yarraman from 10:00am to noon today as a school holiday activity. There'll also be a free BBQ and giveaways, and all school-age children are welcome.
Friday Afternoon Scroungers - Nanango
The Nanango Bowls Club in Henry Street will be holding their regular Friday Afternoon Scroungers matches at 4:00pm today. A $5 match fee applies and new players are very welcome. More details from the club: (07) 4163-3363.
Family Movie Night - Nanango
The Nanango Blue Light at the corner of Elk and George Streets will be holding a family movie night from 6:00pm this evening. The Blue Light will be screening Disney's "The Jungle Book" and admission is a gold coin donation. Free popcorn will be supplied too, and the Blue Light canteen will be in operation, but guests should BYO chairs or blankets to sit on. The movie night is open to all ages and fully supervised, but parents will need to sign children in or out. Everyone is welcome!

Cuppa And Chat Group - Kingaroy
The Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am this afternoon. As the name suggests, members enjoy a cuppa and biscuits baked in the community kitchen, and simply chat about whatever interests them. More details? Nanango Show
The 108th annual Nanango Show will get into gear this evening with Stud Cattle Young Judges and Handlers competitions being held in the main ring while showies set up their stalls and amusement rides for tomorrow's public day. Admission today is free for spectators.
Dance - Inverlaw Hall
A dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. Music will be supplied by Mark's Music and there'll be the usual great supper and novelties, along with a Lucky Door draw. Wesleyan Food Hampers - Nanango
Wesleyan Grace Community Food Hampers will be available at 36 Fitzroy Street, Nanango from 9:00am to 12:00 noon today. Food hampers will be available for $20.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
