Kumbia Christmas Carnival
Kumbia's 20th annual Christmas Carnival will be held in and around Kumbia Hall in Bell Street from 5:00pm until late this evening. Features of this year's event will include a special focus on crafts, with lots of craft stalls selling unique, hand-crafted Yuletide gifts; a jumping catle and other fun stalls for children; live musical entertainment; and the drawing of a raffle for a Giant Christmas Hamper, along with lots of quick ham and chook raffles. A sausage sizzle BBQ will be running and there'll also be hot chips, tea, coffee, soft drinks, ice creams and desserts available in the grounds. Santa himself will be paying a visit to give away sample bags to children up to Year 7 at around 7:15pm. There'll also be lots of market stalls around the grounds too. If you'd like to book a stall at this popular yearly event yourself or obtain more information, call Gayle on (07) 4164-4175.
Kingaroy Community Christmas Carols
Kingaroy's annual Community Christmas Carols service will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 5:00pm this afternoon (carols start at 6:00pm). This year's gathering is being presented by the Kingaroy District Ministry Association and several sponsors and will feature a performance by The Walmsley Brothers. Due to the pandemic the traditional food stalls won't be on hand, and families who want to sit near the front should bring blankets and cushions to sit on (BYO chairs if you want to sit further back). As usual, this afternoon's carols service is a completely free, family-friendly event to which everyone is invited. Note: In the unlikely event of rain, the carols will relocate inside the Town Hall.
Moffatdale Boutique Markets
The Moffatdale Boutique Markets will be running a Twilight Market at Moffatdale Ridge Winery at 681 Barambah Road, Moffatdale from 3:00pm to around 7:00pm this afternoon (to avoid the worst of the mid-day heat). As many as 60 stall-holders will be attending, offering artisnal and hand-made wares that could make very special Christmas gifts. Moffatdale Ridge's cellar door will also be open, offering a full range of wines and liqueurs. There's no admission charge and everyone is welcome.
Kilkivan Railway Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets feature an array of locally produced fruit, vegetables and merchandise and new stallholders are always welcome! More details? Stall Bookings? Phone (0407) 772-741 or visit the website.
