2017 Murgon Music Muster
The final day of the four-day Murgon Music Muster will get underway at the PCYC complex next to the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon at 8:00am this morning with an Invited and Walk-Up Artists Concert that will last until late afternoon. The Muster is being organised by the Murgon Rotary Club and features a wide range of country and bush balladeering talents. Lunch and dinner will be available in the grounds, too, along with an indoor bar. Admission today is $15 and overnight camping is available in the showgrounds for between $7 (unpowered) and $9 (powered) if you want to camp over.
Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Maidenwell Markets
If you're heading up to the Bunya Mountains today, go via Maidenwell and you can browse the Maidenwell Markets at the Maidenwell Sportsgrounds (just next to the Rural Fire Brigade HQ in the heart of town) between 8:00am and 12:00 noon this morning. These markets offer a range of arts and crafts, local produce, plants, home baking, bric-a-brac, sauces, jams, chutneys, coffee, food and lots more (there's even a jumping castle for children). Stallholder fees are very modest and all proceeds go to the Maidenwell Community Group for the development of the township. Everyone is welcome! More details? Phone Robyn on 0423-032-080.
Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertown Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. New members who are interested in learning woodwork are always welcome and you can obtain more details by phoning Marcia on (07) 4170-0389
Proston Rally
The Proston Car Rally Club will be holding the second (and final) day of their quarterly CAMS Khanacross Multiclub Rally at their track this morning. The club's track is located 7.5km west of Proston on the Proston-Boondooma Road, and racing will commence around 8:00am and conclude with results and awards around 1:30pm. Up to 50 cars attend Proston Rally Club meetings from all over Queensland and NSW and spectators are very welcome. There'll be a BBQ and soft drinks stand running throughout the event, as well as a hearty breakfast supplied by the Proston Lions club. Hot showers, toilets and free camping are available on site too. Admission to the Rally is 100% free for spectators, $50 for adult participants and $25 for juniors. More details? Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. At The Wineries
Three of the South Burnett's wineries will be open for lunch today. At Moffatdale, Moffatdale Ridge will have their cellar door verandah cafe open for light meals and snacks from 10:00am to 4:00pm. And in Kingaroy, Cranes Winery and Kingsley Grove will be open the same hours, serving up wines and platters (at Cranes) and wines, cheese platters and wood-fired pizzas (at Kingsley Grove). All Breeds Stock Horse Show - Nanango
An All Breeds Stock Horse Show will be held at the South Burnett Western Performance Club's grounds in Racecourse Road, Nanango from 9:00am today. This is an open show, not sanctioned by ASHS, and 'Stock Horse' in this instance refers to a type of horse or style of riding, so it's open to all breeds to encourage everyone to participate.
Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
Kilkivan Railway Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning.
