Brushes & Flashes Cent Auction - Nanango
A Cent Auction to help raise funds for the South Burnett's Brush & Flashes touring art exhibition will be held at Taras Hall next to Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango from 1:00pm to around 3:00pm this afternoon. There will be over 100 great prizes up for grabs, so everyone is virtually guaranteed to go home with a prize. Admission is just $5 - which includes a free sheet of tickets, an entry in the lucky door prize and a great afternoon tea - and additional sheets of tickets will be available for $1 each. Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event. More details? Send an email.
Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and routinely attract 300 to 400 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Dance - Inverlaw Hall
A dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. Music will be supplied by Top Tunes and there'll be the usual great supper and novelties, along with a Lucky Door draw. Seed To Feed Workshop - Yarraman
A Seed To Feed Workshop for home gardeners will be held at the Yarraman Memorial Hall in Browne Street, Yarraman from 9:00am to noon this morning. Topics that will be covered include plant and seed propagation; seed saving; creating your own mini greenhouse; and fertilisers. The cost of the workshop is $5, but places are limited so a booking is essential. You can make one by phoning 131-872 or you can book online.
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Proston Men's Shed
The Proston Men's Shed will be meeting at the old railway station building at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston for its regular Saturday morning meeting today, kicking off with a cuppa at 9:00am. Kingaroy Sculpture Prize Exhibition Opening
The three category winners of the inaugural biannual $10,000 Kingaroy Sculpture Prize will be announced at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy by judge Dr Rhyl Hinwood AM at 11:30am this morning, followed by the official opening of the sculpture competition exhibition by South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell at 11:40am. Morning tea and local wines will be served, admission is free, and everyone is welcome!

Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding their Wednesday meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Southwest - Kingaroy

Mini Roos Roar Soccer Clinic - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Junior Football Club will be hosting the first day of a two-day Mini Roos Roar 2 Day Soccer Clinic at their grounds in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy from 3:30pm to 6:30pm this afternoon (and 9:30am to 12:30pm tomorrow). The clinic can cater to a maximum of 75 children and there are fewer than 30 places left, with registrations being taken up to 15 minutes before the clinic gets underway. The cost of the two-day clinic is $66 and children should wear runners or soccer boots, shin pads and a hat and bring along a water bottle and healthy snacks or food. More details? Saturday Rugby League - Kingaroy
Two trial rugby league games will be played this weekend at T. J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy: Under 18 and A grade matches between the Kingaroy Red Ants and Bundaberg. The matches will get underway soon after 3:00pm and a bar and canteen will be operating on the grounds. Spectators and supporters are very welcome!
