Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers Muster - Boondooma
The final day of the five-day Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Durong-Mundubbera Road, Boondooma today. This popular annual campout event features lots of Australia's top bush balladeers and poets (more than 50 will be appearing at the Muster this year) along with walk-up artists. The Muster routinely attracts 700 to 800 caravanners plus day-trippers, and in addition to bucketloads of non-stop great music there'll also be great camp oven meals, a licensed bar, BBQ, stalls, displays of vintage cars and engines, photography and historical items. Tickets are $105 for the full five days of the festival, or $15 if you just want a day pass for today only (children under 15 are free). Sunday Sesh At The Palace - Nanango
The Palace Hotel in Drayton Street, Nanango will be holding a Sunday Sesh in the beer garden from 3:00pm this afternoon, featuring popular local performers Lazy Sunday. Children's activities will also be available to keep young ones happily amused while their parents relax. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. More details from the hotel on (07) 4163-1287.
Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
Mountain Bike Club Open Day - Wondai
The South Burnett Mountain Bike Club will be holding an Open Day at the McEuen Forestry trails today. Riders will meet up in Coronation Park opposite Wondai'a IGA at 7:00am this morning to ride along to the end of Mackenzie Street where the trails begin. The club have been working on four trails over the past 4 months and today will give riders the opportunity to put them through their paces. The day is free and non-members are very welcome (but BYO mountain bike). There'll also be bacon and egg rolls and cold drinks available if you get hungry or thirsty. Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Bunya Mountains Markets
The monthly Bunya Mountains Markets will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally-produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas, and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park. Kilkivan Railway Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. South Burnett Orchid Society - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Orchid Society will be holding their regular monthly meeting at CTC's rooms at the South Burnett Youth Park in Somerset Street, Kingaroy from 2:00pm to around 3:30pm this afternoon. The Society exists for orchid enthusiasts of all skill levels and meets on the last Sunday of every month except December. New members and visitors are always very welcome. More details? Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertown Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Proston Nude Golf
The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road at Proston will be hosting the first day of its annual, two-day Proston Nude Golf competition today. The centrepiece of this quirky naturist event is the "Wandering Bares Cup" and participants can arrive at the course today and enjoy unlimited golf as they prepare for the Cup tomorrow. Tickets are $65 per head, which includes 2 nights camping, unlimited golf, a spot in The Wandering Bares competition plus lunch and dinner tomorrow. PCAQ Sporting Gymkhana - Kumbia
A PCAQ Sporting Gymkhana will be held at the Kumbia Showgrounds from 8:00am this morning. The gymkhana is being hosted by the Kumbia Pony and Hack Club, and spectators are very welcome.
Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
