Jesus Christ Superstar - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be presenting their second performance of Jesus Christ Superstar, Time Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic 1970 rock opera about the last seven days of Jesus Christ’s life at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 7:00pm tonight (doors open at 6:30pm). The SBMCS's latest production features a wide range of well-known South Burnett performers including Damian Corkett as Jesus, Luke Green as Judas and Sue Dowideit-Reiger as Mary, and promises to be a knock-out. Tickets can be obtained in advance from Murgon News, Wondai News, Proston News, Robinson’s News in Kingaroy and online from TryBooking , but they'll also be available at the door tonight (if not already sold out) for $15. Note: One additional evening performance will be held at the same time and place tomorrow. There'll also be a final matinee performance at 2:00pm on Sunday.
St John's Trivia Night - Kingaroy
The Parents and Friends Committee from St John's Lutheran School will be hosting their 4th annual Trivia Night in the school's hall in Ivy Street, Kingaroy from 6:30pm until around 11:00pm this evening (play begins at 7:00pm sharp). Tonight's get-together will be hosted by the fabulous Tracey Tunstall, and live entertainment will be provided by The Misfitz. The theme this year is "Through The Decades - Let's Talk About Your Generation". Cost is $10 per person and play is in tables of six. Participants must be 18 years and over, and you should BYO alcohol and food, along with plenty of loose change for the raffles and games throughout the night. More details? Bookings? Friday Roast Night - Wondai
Dimities Cottage in Haly Street, Wondai - opposite the Wondai Art Gallery - will be holding a Friday Roast Night from 6:30pm to 8:00pm this evening. Guests at this BYO dinner can get a great Dimities roast dinner for $12.50 per head. However, bookings are essential: (07) 4168-5744
Kingaroy RSL Bingo
Bingo games will be running at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help local good causes. Everyone is welcome. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Friday Afternoon Scroungers - Nanango

Cuppa And Chat Group - Kingaroy
The Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am this afternoon. As the name suggests, members enjoy a cuppa and biscuits baked in the community kitchen, and simply chat about whatever interests them. More details? Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:30pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting (or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer). Goomeri Show
The first day of the Goomeri Show will be held at the Goomeri Showgrounds on the Burnett Highway today, but the action will be confined to pavillion entry judging - the Show's main public day is tomorrow.
Shane Christensen - Blackbutt
Woodwork sculptor Shane Christensen will be carving wooden sculptures at Nukku Nook at the end of Hart Street, Blackbutt from 8:00am to 4:00pm today. Shane will also be providing tips about the methods he uses, and anyone with an interest in woodwork is very welcome to drop by and talk to him. Shane will also be at the same location on Saturday and Sunday. You can read more about his visit on our website
Wesleyan Food Hampers - Nanango
Wesleyan Grace Community Food Hampers will be available at 36 Fitzroy Street, Nanango from 9:00am to 12:00 noon today. Food hampers will be available for $20.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
