Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers Muster - Boondooma
The fifth day of the week-long Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Durong-Mundubbera Road, Boondooma today. This popular annual campout week features lots of Australia's top bush balladeers and poets (51 will be appearing at the Muster this year) along with walk-up artists. The Muster routinely attracts 700 to 800 caravanners plus day-trippers, and in addition to bucketloads of non-stop great music there'll also be great camp oven meals, a licensed bar, BBQ, stalls, displays of vintage cars and engines, photography and historical items. Tickets are $100 for the full seven days of the festival, or $15 if you just want a day pass for today only (children under 15 are free). Bush camping is available on-site and can be booked by phoning the Homestead's caretakers on (07) 4168-0159. You can also get a full program of this year's Muster in PDF format by clicking here.
Hivesville Country Markets

These family friendly monthly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month, and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. There'll also be mini auctions running throughout the morning and there's plenty of free parking in the grounds. New stallholders are very welcome too, and you can obtain more details by phoning Trish on 0459-493-511.
Manumbar Campdraft
The third (and final) day of the three-day Manumbar Campdraft will be held at the Manumbar Campdrafting Grounds from 6:30am to early afternoon today. This year's draft will feature a Maiden Draft; a Junior Draft for riders aged 8 to 13 years; a Juvenile Draft; a Restricted Draft for horses which have won an Open or Novice Draft; and a Novice Draft; and today's activities will see the finals, which should provide great action. A licensed bar will be operating all day and evening and there'll be meals, hot showers and limited powered sites in the grounds. Admission to the draft is 100% free for spectators. More details? Phone Merle on (07) 4168-8193.

The cost of the ride is $15 (to cover insurance) and participants should bring along their own smoko, or cash for the Benarkin Store so they can buy some before the ride departs. The ride is suitable for advanced intermediate riders and has some hills. It's also a walk-only ride, and because the trail has some sections on gravel road, boots or shoes are recommended.
