Kingaroy Markets
The third Saturday of the month Kingaroy Markets will be held at the Cheers Triangle end of the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around 12:00pm today. The markets are jointly run by the Kingaroy Rotary Club and Kingaroy Show Society and feature a great array of arts, crafts, fruit and flower stalls. New stallholders are always very welcome! Lumberjack Lane - Kingaroy
Popular local duo Lumberjack Lane will be performing in the front bar of the Commercial Hotel at the corner of Glendon and Haly Streets, Kingaroy from 8:00pm until late tonight. Admission is free. More details from the hotel on (07) 4162-1380.
Barambah Shed Men - Murgon
The Barambah Shed Men will be holding their 40th meeting at the Murgon Men's Shed at 79 Macalister Street, Murgon (opposite Murgon Fruit Mart) from 4:30pm onwards this afternoon. Today's meeting will feature two very interesting guest speakers: Wayne Huston, a model plane builder and collector, and a member of IT Plastic Model Society of Australia, who'll talk about his hobby; and David Mollenhauer, who'll be talking and showing pictures of his time in Papua New Guinea working for the mission airline MAF. The cost of the meeting is $10 (which includes a meal, dessert, soft drinks, and tea/coffee), but young blokes under 15 can attend for free. Men's Saturday Bowls - Yarraman
The Yarraman Bowls Club in Margaret Street, Yarraman will be holding their weekly Men's Lawn Bowls games from 9:30am this morning. New players are always welcome. More details from the club: (07) 4163-8269.
Fortunato - Kingaroy
Popular entertainer Fortunato Isgro will be performing at the Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 7:00pm until 11:00pm tonight. Admission is free. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event. More details? Send an email.
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Library Closures - Kingaroy and Nanango
The South Burnett Regional Council's libraries in Glendon Street, Kingaroy and Drayton Street, Nanango will both be closed from 9:00am to 12:00 noon today for upgrades. Both libraries will reopen for business as usual from 9:30am on Monday, July 23.
