Kingaroy Markets
The third Saturday of the month Kingaroy Markets will be held at the Cheers Triangle end of the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around 12:00pm today. The markets are jointly run by the Kingaroy Rotary Club and Kingaroy Show Society and feature a great array of arts, crafts, fruit and flower stalls. New stallholders are always very welcome! Cent Auction - Blackbutt
Blackbutt Tennis Club will be holding a cent auction this morning at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall. Doors open at 8:00am for a 10:00am start. Tickets ($1 a sheet) are available on the day or can be bought at the Blackbutt Newsagency. One free sheet will be provided on entry. The $5 entry free includes morning tea plus a chance to win the lucky door prize.
Hivesville QCWA Mini Cent Auction
The Hivesville QCWA will be holding a Mini Cent Auction at the Hivesville QCWA Rooms on the Wondai-Proston Road at Hivesville at 1:00pm today - just perfect if you're looking for a relaxing afternoon of fun. The auction will feature home-made, home-grown and baked items along with a guest speaker, plants for sale, a raffle and a great afternoon tea. You can pre-purchase tickets by phoning Denise on (07) 4168-5191 or Shelley on 0427-682-709, but they'll also be available on-site today. Everyone is welcome!
National Park Walk - Cooyar
The Kingaroy branch of Native Plants Queensland will be holding a nature walk through The Palms National Park near Cooyar at 9:00am this morning, kicking off with a morning tea. The Palms is one of the smallest National Parks in Australia and preserves the unique sub-tropical flora that once existed around the Cooyar area. The walk is open to both members and non-members and is free, but an RSVP would be appreciated for catering purposes. You can make one by phoning Graham on 0400-393-454
Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event. More details? Send an email.
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Jeff Hancox - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's very own Elvis Jeff Hancox will be performing at the Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 7:00pm until 11:00pm tonight. Admission is free. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
