Proston Christmas Carnival

The annual Proston Lions Christmas Carnival will be held in Railway Park, Proston from 5:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. Organisers say this year's Christmas Carnival will be bigger and better than ever with an array of amusement rides and food stalls, a ham wheel, raffles, and a variety of other Christmas goodies on offer. Children can get to enjoy lots of free entertainment and free gifts, courtesy of the Carnival's sponsors (the Proston Lions, Proston Men's Shed, Hivesville Markets, Proston Round Table, the South Burnett Regional Council and community members). There'll also be amusements, live music and carol singing - and Santa will be putting in an appearance too. Meanwhile, in nearby Blake Street, NB Inspirations, the Jacaranda Tearooms and Proston Health & Beauty will all be open for late night shopping from 5:00pm so adults can take a break and get in some Christmas shopping while the children are being amused at the Carnival. Nanango Community Christmas Carols

Nanango's annual Community Christmas Carols will be held at the Wesleyan Methodist Church at 55 Cairns Street in Nanango at 5:00pm tonight. This family-oriented event will feature contemporary and traditional carols, and will be followed by a good, old-fashioned New Zealand hangi. Everyone is welcome!

Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404

Christmas At Cassis With The SBCO

The South Burnett Community Orchestra will be holding a special dinner concert at Cassis Restaurant at the corner of Haydens and Schellbach's Roads at Booie from 6:00pm until 10:00pm tonight. Guests at this prestige event can enjoy a menu of festive cuisine along with music from the SBCO String Ensemble and Wind Quintet. Tickets are $75 to $85 per head and need to have been booked by December 1.

Kingaroy Markets

The third Saturday of the month Kingaroy Markets will be held at the Cheers Triangle end of the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around 12:00pm today. The markets are jointly run by the Kingaroy Rotary Club and Kingaroy Show Society and feature a great array of arts, crafts, fruit and flower stalls. New stallholders are always very welcome! Skin & Bone - Kingaroy

Luke Medcalf and DJ T - Kingaroy

South Burnett entertainer Luke Medcalf will be performing in the front bar of the Kingaroy Hotel-Motel at the corner of Kingaroy and Haly Streets from 8:30pm until late tonight, and DJ T will be spinning the platters in the back bar from 9:00pm. More details from the hotel on (07) 4162-1677.

Wondai Parkrun

The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. A Christmas On Alford Street celebration will be held in Alford Street, Kingaroy from 9:00am to 1:00pm today. It will feature free games, give aways, laughing clowns, lucky dips and live entertainment, and food and drinks will be available too. Everyone is welcome.
