Blackbutt Country Markets
The Blackbutt Lions Country Markets - run on the third Sunday of every month - will be held next to the Blackbutt Community Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 7:00am until around mid-day today. Kilkivan Railway Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. Women In Workshirts Walk - Wooroolin
BIEDO will be holding a "Women In Workshirts" walk along the South Burnett Rail Trail this morning to celebrate the International Day of Rural Women. Walkers will leave Dalton Park (opposite Wooroolin Post Office) at 9:00am, walk 2.5km towards Tingoora along the Rail Trail, then return for morning tea. All women in workshirts are welcome to take part.
Open Mic Afternoon At The Palace - Nanango
After four years, the Palace Hotel at 77 Drayton Street in Nanango will be holding their last ever Open Mic Jam Session from 2:00pm to around 6:30pm this afternoon, hosted by Mr Q. Anyone is welcome to put their name up on the blackboard and - when their turn comes - perform up to 25 minutes of originals or covers. All PAs, guitars and drums will be provided by Mr Q. Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertown Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
Cooyar Trail Bike Ride
The second (and final) day of the annual Cooyar Trail Bike Ride - a fundraiser for the Cooyar State School P&C - will be held in and around the Cooyar Showgrounds on the Cooyar Rangemore Road, Cooyar today. Events will kick off with a compulsory rider briefing at 8:15am, followed by riding around the loop from 8:30am to 1:00pm. If you're a participant, an MQ Day Licence will set you back $10 and entry fees are $75 in the Open class, $40 for Sunday riders only, $20 for Novices or $10 for Pee Wees, but spectators are welcome to come watch the action for free. There'll also be free on-site camping in the grounds on Friday and Saturday (with showers and toilets), but you'll need to BYO water and lights, and glass and dogs are forbidden. Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Gymkhana - Nanango
A Gymkhana will be held at the Nanango Showground in Cairns Street, Nanango from 9:00am to 3:00pm today. The days offers first place trophies in each age group (a rug) and second to fourth place winners will also win exciting prizes. Ribbons in each event will go to 6th place. Events being run today will include Bending, Drum and Peg, Barrels, Bon Field Bend, Running T, a Mug Race, Diamond Flag, Scudda Ho, Wagon Wheel, Bounce Pony and Keyhole. There'll also be Lunchtime Barrels for $2 (maximum of 3 runs).
Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Race Day
Cancelled: The Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Speedway Club will be holding a Race Day on the main oval of Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy this morning. They'll be holding McDonald's Club Day 5, with racing starting from 10:00am. The club is for young motorcycle riders aged 4 to 16 and spectators are very welcome. More details? Obedience And Rally O Trials - Nanango
The Nanango & District All Breeds Kennel Club will be holding the second (and final) day of their weekend-long Obedience and Rally O Trial at the Nanango Sports Fields in Burnett Street, Nanango from 7:00am this morning. Catering will be available at the grounds all day, and there'll be free overnight camping too.
