Gem, Rock and Lapidary Show - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding the second (and final) day of their inaugural Gem, Rock and Lapidary Show at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 9:00am to 4:00pm today. The event will feature unique crystal, rock and mineral displays; a dealer pavilion; outdoor tailgaters and lots of fun for the kids. Food and drink stalls will be operating in the grounds, too. Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Wondai Street Sprints
The second (and final) day of the weekend-long, fourth annual Wondai Street Sprints sprint car races will be held at the Wondai Industrial Estate off the Bunya Highway just north of Wondai's CBD today. Race time trials will be held from 8:00am to around 3:00pm, and there'll also be a huge Show and Shine held on the sports oval adjacent to the racetrack, with judging taking place between 9:00am and 12:30pm and trophy presentations at around 1:00pm. Over 135 entrants have nominated for this year's Sprints in classes including historic, touring cars, sports sedans, racing cars and special interest, and food and drink will be available in the grounds. Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Linda Little Campaign Launch - Blackbutt
ALP candidate for Maranoa Linda Little will be launching her campaign for the 2019 Federal election at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 11:30am to around 2:30pm today. The launch will give guests the opportunity to quiz Liz on issues of concern and compare her policies to those of the National Party incumbent, Federal Agriculture Minister David Littleproud. There'll also be a democracy sausage sizzle and tea, coffee and soft drinks available.
Barambah Bowhunters AGM - Nanango
The Barambah Bowhunters and Field Archers Association will be holding their Annual General Meeting at their clubhouse in Bowhunters Road, Nanango (just next to Virgil's Artisan's Village) from 12:30pm to around 3:30pm this afternoon. All interested people are welcome to attend.
Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
Kilkivan Railway Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning.
