Beauty And The Beast - Kingaroy
South Burnett Musical Comedy Society's massive production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast will be on again from 7:00pm tonight at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre at Kingaroy State High School. There’s four more shows in Kingaroy: October 14 (2:00pm), October 19 (7:00pm), October 20 (7:00pm) and October 21 (2:00pm). Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for concession / students; five and under are free.They can be booked at trybooking.com or call 0409-895-526.
South Burnett Relay For Life - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's annual Relay For Life fundraiser will be held in the sports auditorium at Kingaroy State High School from noon until 10:00pm tonight. The new venue and shortened length are due to the recent wet weather. The South Burnett Relay For Life has raised more than $1 million for cancer research in the last decade. Spectators are very welcome to come along and cheer the walkers on as they march around the auditorium.
Colours Of Yarraman - Garden Awards
The Colours of Yarraman Garden Awards Evening will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm tonight during a garden-themed cocktail party at the Yarraman Memorial Hall. The winners of the garden competition will be announced and organisers promise a special guest speaker. There'll be a licensed cash bar, music, mini garden display plus prizes for the best-dressed garden-themed character (male and female).
Maclagan Squeezebox Festival
The 16th annual Maclagan Squeezebox Festival will be held at Maclagan Memorial Hall on the Dalby-Cooyar Road in the heart of Maclagan village today. Activities will kick off at 9:00am with a walk-up concert, which will be followed by the main concert that will run from 1:00pm until around 5:30pm. There'll be morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on offer during the day, and the main concert will be followed by a dinner at 6:00pm, and then a great Old Time dance from 7:00pm until late, with music by Mystique. A canteen will be running all day and a licensed bar will begin operating in the afternoon. Admission is $12 for adults for the daytime events, and $10 for adults for the dance (children under 15 are free to attend both). There'll also be Lucky Door prizes and a raffle. Yarraman Markets
CANCELLED The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today (ie opposite Bendigo Bank). The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls, and are held on the second Saturday of every month. Reunion Of Former RAAF Armourers - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Chapter of the RAAF 'Gunnies' crew is holding a get-together at Kingaroy RSL from 11:00am to around 3:00pm today. Several RAAF 'Gunnies' who served in the various RAAF Squadrons in Vietnam are attending, but all former or serving 'Gunnies' are most welcome. Wooroolin Community Markets
The Wooroolin Community Markets will be held inside the Wooroolin QCWA Rooms on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 6:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets offer stalls, a sausage sizzle, fresh produce, plants and crafts and are run on the 2nd Saturday of every month except January. Sistas In Sync Brunch - Kingaroy
Sistas In Sync will be holding a brunch at 6 Sonaree Drive in Kingaroy at 9:30am this morning. Women attending the brunch should bring along a plate of food to share. This morning's guest speaker will be Lynda Lange, who will be talking about her recent trip to North Korea and China. All women are welcome and can bring along a friend or two as well if they wish.
South Burnett Cricket
Depending on the weather ... the following cricket games have been scheduled to be played today in the South Burnett. A Grade: Kingaroy v Gympie Colts at Lyle Vidler Oval, Kingaroy; and Murgon v Gympie Valleys at Murgon Sportsground. B Grade games scheduled are Cherbourg v Blackbutt at Murgon State High School; Kingaroy Services v Kumbia at Taabinga State School; Murgon v Nanango at Murgon Sportsground; and Wondai v Wooroolin at Kingaroy State High School. All games will start at 12:30pm. The Goodchild Shield game which was to have been played in Maryborough this weekend has been postponed.
Obedience Trials - Nanango
CANCELLED Nanango Kennel Club will be holding its two-day Obedience & RallyO Trials this weekend at the club grounds in Burnett Street, Nanango. On Saturday, RallyO will start at 4:00pm and Obedience at 6:00pm. On Sunday, Obedience from 7:00am and RallyO from 7:30am.
Dusty Day Out - Moffatdale
SOLD OUT- The 6th annual Dusty Day Out will be held at Dusty Hill Vineyard in Moffatdale from noon to midnight today. This event - which is strictly limited to 400 guests - has been a sell-out the past four years. Bands include Mustered Courage, Barefoot, Pop Standen & Band, Crowded Endz, Bad Habits, The Venture and Bob Mouat. There'll be free overnight camping on the grounds (no power or other facilities) and no pets or BYO are allowed. Courtesy buses are available at times throughout the day from Goomeri, Murgon and in-between. Tickets are $60 per head and can be booked on Eventbrite
LCDA Skate Night - Nanango
La Creme Dance Academy will be holding its fourth annual Movie Night and Skate Party at the Nanango Skating Rink from 5:00pm tonight. The movie, Peter Rabbit, will start at 6:20pm. Free popcorn. BYO pillows and blankets. Drinks and snacks will be available to buy. NB. Children must be enrolled at LCDA to attend.
Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event. More details? Send an email.
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
