Festival Of The Dams - Yallakool
The second (and final) day of the weekend-long Festival Of The Dams fishing competition will be held at Bjelkje-Petersen Dam north-west of Murgon today. Up to 50 teams will be competing in the two-day event, but there's plenty of fun to be had for spectators too, with markets and food vans opening from breakfast onwards. The festival is being sponsored by the South Burnett Regional Council and inexpensive caravan and camping sites and cabins can be booked from the Yallakool Tourist Park. Final competition winners will be announced around lunch time.
Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Queensland Junior Motorcycle State Titles - Kingaroy
Change of date! Now on Sept 12 The Kingaroy Bees junior motorcycle speedway club will be hosting the second (and final) day of the 2020 Queensland Junior Motorcycle State Titles this morning at the junior motorcycle speedway track inside main ring at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street. Today's action will see competitors vie for the 250cc solo crown in the morning. Racing starts at 10:00am and spectators are more than welcome to come along to watch the action. Entry is free.
Murgon CBD Markets
The monthly Murgon Markets will be held in Lamb Street in the heart of Murgon from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets offer locally-made crafts, foods and produce and are always an interesting Sunday morning out. New stall-holders are always welcome too! More details? Phone Richie on 0427-133-408
Kilkivan Railway Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning.
