Blackbutt Tennis Courts Reopening

The Blackbutt Tennis Club will be reopening their courts today after they were closed 8 years ago. The courts have been beautifully resurfaced, and Mr Lester Scherwin - a long time supporter and volunteer worker for the club - will officially reopen the courts at 10:00am this morning, followed by games and a fun tennis tournament. Murgon CBD Markets

The monthly Murgon Markets will be held in Lamb Street in the heart of Murgon from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. Open Mic Afternoon At The Palace - Nanango

The Palace Hotel at 77 Drayton Street in Nanango will be holding an Open Mic Jam Session from 2:00pm to around 6:30pm this afternoon, hosted by Mr Q. Anyone is welcome to put their name up on the blackboard and - when their turn comes - perform up to 25 minutes of originals or covers. Kumbia Museum

The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Taromeo Country Music Club Social - Blackbutt

The Taromeo Country Music Club will be holding their second bi-monthly Sunday social for 2017 at the Blackbutt Golf Club at 51 Langton Road, Blackbutt from 10:00am to around 4:00pm today. Entertainment will be provided by the visiting and guest artists. There'll also be multi-draw raffles, a lucky door prize, plenty of food and refreshments, a licensed bar and - of course! - lots of great country music and dancing. Admission is still only $5 with bottomless tea or coffee and and free afternoon tea as well. Lunch will also be available for a small charge. Everyone is welcome!

Maidenwell Folk Gathering

The final day of the twice-a-year Maidenwell Folk Gathering will be held in and around the historic Maidenwell Hotel in Maidenwell today, kicking off at around 9:30am and running until around noon. This is an all-acoustic event and during the day a variety of performers will be entertaining in and around the hotel. Admission to the Folk Gathering is completely free and musicians are welcome as well as people who just like to listen to music. There's also free overnight camping available in the hotel's grounds. Phone Camera Workshop - Nanango

Would you like to learn how to take better photos with your phone's camera? The Nanango & District Camera Club will be holding a workshop that will teach you how to use your phone camera like an expert at St Patrick's School library at 16 Alfred Street, Nanango from 9:30am to around 3:30pm today. The workshop will be led by professional photographer Phillipa Frederickson and will cover all aspects from shooting photos and creative photography tricks through to editing photos on your smartphone and creating a portfolio.
