Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Christmas Dance - Inverlaw
A Christmas Dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. Music will be supplied by Mystique and there'll be the usual great supper and novelties, along with a Lucky Door draw. Festival Of Small Halls - Cooranga North
The Festival of Small Halls will be running at Cooranga North Hall at 43 Cooranga North-Niagara Road in Cooranga North from 6:00pm until 10:00pm tonight. The Festival tours small halls all around Australia, and last year's Cooranga North event was a sell-out. Tonight's performance will feature music from the OShea family and there'll also be face-painting, food and a licensed bar operating onsite. Tickets are $25.51 and can be booked online. They can also be purchased over the counter for cash at Active Physio in Archibald Street, Dalby; Pips n Cherries in Bell; and Nelson’s Butcher in Jandowae.
La Creme Dance Academy Concert - Nanango
La Creme Dance Academy will be staging their annual concert at the Nanango State High School Hall at 54 Elk Street, Nanango at 6:30pm< tonight. This year's concert will have a "Lion King" theme and it will be presenting performances from all the school's students. Tickets are $16.85 (including a booking fee) and can be purchased online.
Moffatdale Boutique Christmas Market
Raukawa Cottage in Steinhardts Road, Mofdfatdale will be holding a Boutique Christmas Market from 10:00am to 3:00pm today. The market will feature home-made foods and giftware as well as wines from Moffatdale Ridge, Clovely Estate, Dusty Hill and Kingsley Grove. More details? Phone Felicity on 0400-050-794.
South Burnett Cricket
A full round of cricket games will be played in the South Burnett today. In A Grade, Murgon District take on Gympie Colts at Murgon Sports Ground; and Southern Districts Devils (Kingaroy) will play Western Gympie at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy. In B Grade, Kumbia v Kingaroy Services at Kumbia; Nanango v Murgon at Nanango Sportsground; Blackbutt v Cherbourg at Blackbutt; and Kallindale Warriors v Wondai at Wondai Sports Ground. All games start at 12:30pm
Kennel Jam Session - Hivesville
The monthly Kennel Jam Session will be held at the Hivesville Hotel in Main Street, Hivesville from 5:00pm until late tonight. All musicians young and old are welcomed at these sessions, and so are all music genres. All the necessary backline gear is provided, too - just bring along your guitar, your voice and your friends and enjoy a great night of music. Accommodation is available at special rates for music lovers on the night, there's free camping nearby, and dinner will be served from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Kingaroy Dance Academy Annual Concert
Kingaroy Dance Academy will be holding its dance concert this evening at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre (KPAC) at Kingaroy State High School. The concert will get under way at 4:00pm (doors open at 3:00pm and close at 3:45pm). This is the KDA's third annual Dance Concert. The first half of the production will take guests on an ocean adventure to the story of "Moana". The second half, "Dance to the Music", will feature songs from "The Greatest Showman", "Mary Poppins", Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley, plus some great dance songs. Audience members are also encouraged to come along dressed in their favorite Hawaiian clothing to go into the draw for a prize. Tickets are available online at www.kingaroydanceacademy.com. Maidenwell Hotel's 105th Birthday
The Maidenwell Hotel will be turning 105 on Monday, and today the hotel will be holding an all-day birthday party to celebrate it, including free birthday cake and live music from 4:00pm, along with a buffet dinner. Former Maidenwell district residents, customers and anyone with any connection to the hotel have also been invited back to share their stories about this historic building, which still retains many of its original features. The Joy Of Christmas - Wondai
The South Burnett's 2018 Christmas season will continue today when the South Burnett Chorale present the third performance of their annual Christmas Charity Concert series, which this year is called "The Joy Of Christmas". The concert will be held at Wondai's Anglican Church at the corner of Bramston and Baynes Streets from 2:30pm to around 4:00pm this afternoon, and it'll be full of Christmas favourites from classic to contemporary numbers. Christmas Party With A Cause - Wondai
The Barambah branch of the QRRRWN will be holding a 'Christmas Party With A Cause' at the Wondai Diggers Club in Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 11:00am this morning to raise funds for Downs West Community Support. Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join.
