Higher Distracted Driving Penalties Start Today
New penalties for drivers illegally using mobile devices behind the wheel come into force today. The new laws are the toughest in Australia and have been introduced after distracted drivers caused 33 deaths and led to almost 1400 hospitalisations in Queensland in 2018.
