South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Yarraman Midwinter Dance
The Yarraman Progress Association will be holding a Midwinter Dance at the Yarraman Memorial Hall in Browne Street, Yarraman from 5:30pm (when the doors open) until late tonight as a fundraiser for Yarraman's annual Christmas Carnival - and also a great night of fun! Entertainment will be provided by the popular Deception Bay duo "Just Friends" and there'll be a licensed bar and a great light supper too. Just Friends play all the hits from the 1950s to the 1980s, and if you're a dancer you'll be able to dance to the Waltz, Pride Of Erin, Quickstep, Barn Dance, Gypsy Tap, 3 Step and much more. Tickets are $25, but to assist catering they need to be booked in advance (ie none will be available at the door tonight). They can be purchased from the Yarraman Library or by calling Raina on 0457-451-665 or Taalei on 0448-445-656 by Monday, August 4.
Murgon Camera Club Meeting - Wondai
The Murgon Camera Club will be holding their regular monthly meeting at The Studio at the rear of the Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. Ulysses Motor Cycle Club Meeting - Kingaroy
The Ulysses MC Burnett Branch (motto: "Grow old disgracefully") will be holding their regular 2nd Saturday of the month meeting at the Kingaroy Hotel-Motel at the corner of Haly Street and the Bunya Highway in Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning. Visitors and prospective new members are very welcome.
Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's monthly Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today (ie opposite Bendigo Bank). The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls. One 4 The Road - Nanango

Brass Instrument Master Class and Workshop - Wondai
Letterbox Brass, one of Australia's leading brass quartets, will be holding a workshop and master class for South Burnett brass instrument players at Terry Jacobsen's shed at 1 Short Street (1 Ivory Street) in Wondai from 10:00am onwards this morning. The workshop is being run by the Wondai & District Band and is funded by the South Burnett Regional Council's RADF program. It's completely free, and is open to all South Burnett brass players from beginner to advanced, but is particularly recommended for younger players. More details? The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today. Saturday Night With Sax Appeal - Wondai
The South Burnett's very own "Sultan Of Sax" Tom McKenzie will be playing at the Wondai Hotel & Cellars in Haly Street, Wondai from 6:00pm until late tonight. Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Dance - Booie Hall
A dance will be held at Booie Hall from 7:300pm until around 11:30pm this evening. Music will be supplied by a local band and there'll be the usual great supper, novelties and lucky door prize. Sakina's Seafood Buffet - which is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month - will be running at the Saleyard Cafe on Gayndah Road at Murgon at 6:30pm this evening.
